NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware state troopers are investigating a fatal car wreck in New Castle that left one man dead.

Police say the crash occurred on April 2 when a man driving a 2007 Cadillac traveling on N. DuPont Highway southbound tried to make a U-turn. Police say as the driver entered into the northbound lane he was struck by a Nissan Maxima.

Police say the driver of the Cadillac was transported to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead three days later. Police have identified the man as 62-year-old Karl Tyler.

The driver of the Nissan and his passenger were both taken to a local hospital, treated and released.

Police say alcohol is not considered a factor in the wreck. The incident is still under investigation.
