QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York man has been charged with murder and manslaughter in the death of his 3-week-old daughter.
The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports (https://bit.ly/1WjUlCy ) that a grand jury in Warren County filed murder and manslaughter charges Friday against 24-year-old Nicholas Jones of Johnsburg.
The charges stem from the March 30 death of Jones’ daughter, Gabriella Rose Parker.
Jones was arrested March 28, hours after Gabriella was taken to a hospital with serious head and internal injuries. She died two days later.
Authorities say Jones told investigators that he lifted the baby from her crib by a leg, shook her and threw her against a couch.
His lawyer, Robert Gregor, tells the newspaper that Jones will plead not guilty to the indictment.
Gregor says Jones will be arraigned Tuesday.
