SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 37-year-old man has been fatally struck by a car on Long Island.

The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. Friday in Southampton.

Southampton Town Police say Claude Eleazer was hit by a car as he crossed the street. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.



The driver was not injured and was not charged. The investigation is continuing.
