COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio prosecutor says a grand jury considered a SWAT team officer’s fatal shooting of a robbery suspect outside a convenience store and issued no indictment in the case.

Columbus police said 25-year-old Kaleb Alexander was shot shortly after midnight on Oct. 15 outside a United Dairy Farmers store. Police alleged Alexander robbed the same store three days in a row.

Police say officers staked out the store on the third night, after he made off with a small amount of cash and cigarettes on the previous nights.

Officers saw Alexander walk into the store and pull a gun on the clerk, then confronted him. They say Alexander ignored commands to drop his weapon and was shot.

The Franklin County prosecutor says a grand jury considered the case Friday.
