SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - The suspected owner of a stolen firearm has been arrested after a three-hour standoff with Sparks police.

Authorities say 25-year-old Shawn Alexander Brown was being held on bail Saturday in the Washoe County jail.

According to police, Brown is linked to a stolen shotgun with a sawed-off barrel that was recovered from a March 25 shooting incident.

He faces charges including possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Officers with a search warrant approached Brown’s home but he had barricaded himself inside.

A SWAT team was called in.

Police say Brown surrendered without incident after a few hours.

He had other felony and misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest.
