PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man is suing to lift an order that closed his pet store after dozens of puppies and small dogs in crates were found inside a van behind the store.

Vincent LoSacco, owner of Just Pets in Paramus, tells The Record newspaper (https://bit.ly/1VH8ARp ) his lawyer filed a lawsuit on Friday asking the borough to lift the order.

More than 60 dogs were found in the van on Monday, which was 38 degrees at the time.

LoSacco says what happened had “nothing to do with the store.”

The board of health has said it plans to hold a special hearing on whether to revoke the store’s business license.

LoSacco says the lawsuit also seeks to delay that hearing - scheduled for Monday night - by 30 days.
