ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - Federal prosecutors in Vermont say a St. Albans man will remain in custody on a charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Authorities say 33-year-old Derrick Jones was first arrested on March 7, after state police armed with a search warrant found 85 Oxycodone pills, 25 grams of cocaine, counterfeit money and a loaded revolver in his apartment.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 31 on the gun charge stemming from a prior felony conviction in New York, prosecutors said.

Authorities say Jones appeared in federal court Friday and was ordered held without bail pending trial.

It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
