YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - The National Weather Service is expecting some minor flooding along the Naches River this weekend. Record or near-record temperatures in the Yakima Valley are expected to increase snowmelt, which could lead to flooding.

The Yakima Herald reports (https://is.gd/pgQBX0 ) a flood warning has been issued for part of the Naches River for Saturday and Sunday. Forecasters expect the river to reach flood stage Saturday morning near the town of Naches, crest Saturday evening and stay above flood stage into Sunday evening.

Late Thursday morning, the water level was at 16.3 feet; flood stage for the Naches River is 17.8 feet. The weather service expects the river to rise to almost 18 feet by Saturday evening.
