WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin is announcing the winners of this year’s congressional art competition.

The Rhode Island Democrat says he’ll hold an awards ceremony at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Warwick Mall for the “Artistic Discovery Contest.”

Judges from the Wickford Art Association selected the top three winners.

The artwork by the student in first place will be hung in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year, and the winner will receive a free flight to Washington, D.C., to see it on display.

Four students will be recognized with honorable mention awards.

Langevin says there were more than 60 entries this year. It was open to all high school students in the second congressional district.

All of the artwork will be on display at the Warwick Mall through Sunday’s ceremony.
