LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a woman was critically injured after she was hit by a car while crossing a Las Vegas street.

The incident occurred Friday shortly before 11:30 p.m. in the area of Pecos Road and Rawhide street.

According to police, a Ford Fiesta traveling northbound on Pecos hit the woman while she was walking outside a marked crosswalk.

The driver immediately stopped.

A second driver hit the Ford after trying to avoid hitting the pedestrian.

That driver also stayed at the scene.

Police say the woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and she is in critical condition.

They do not believe impairment was a factor.

The collision remains under investigation.
