MADISON, Wis. (AP) - About a third of Wisconsin voters still don’t have an opinion of incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson with just three months to go before the election.

A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday shows 31 percent of registered voters don’t have an opinion of Johnson, compared with 18 percent for Democratic challenger Russ Feingold.

The poll shows Feingold leading Johnson by 6 points among registered voters and 11 points among likely voters.

In July, Feingold was up 5 points among likely voters and 7 points among registered voters.

The poll was conducted Aug. 4 through Sunday, sampling 805 registered Wisconsin voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points. The error margin is 5 points among likely voters.
