BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A jury is expected to begin deliberations Wednesday after a former Burlington city councilman acknowledged having sexual contact with his teenage accusers.

The Hawk Eye reports that (https://bit.ly/2aLYE7x ) Chris King took the stand Tuesday and said he never provided the teenagers with alcohol or forced them into any sexual acts. He says the sex was consensual.

Prosecutors say King’s actions were illegal because the girls were incapacitated by alcohol he provided and unable to consent to sexual activity. Prosecutors say the girls were 16, 17 or 18 during the encounters. The girls say they met King through his photography business.

King is charged with three counts of sexual abuse assault and related crimes. He served on the Burlington City Council from 2002 to 2005.
