GRANTHAM, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a 65-year-old Newbury man faces charges that he caused an accident on Interstate 89 in Grantham and then left the scene.

Police say Henry Carnevale was driving north on the interstate Tuesday morning and closely following a Volkswagen Jetta. Then he passed the Jetta and changed lanes in front of it, causing a collision before leaving the scene.

The driver of the Jetta lost control and hit a bridge abutment close to workers in a road construction zone. That driver and a child passenger were taken to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the incident was caught on video. Carnevale was arrested at his home later Tuesday, held overnight and released Wednesday on $25,000 bail. Carnevale could not be reached.
