VICTORIA, Texas (AP) - Officials say five people were killed when the sport utility vehicle they were riding in flipped and caught fire near Victoria.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Deon Cockrell tells the Victoria Advocate (https://bit.ly/2bx9RtX ) that the vehicle was headed south on U.S. 77 on Saturday night when it traveled into the grass median, where it struck an embankment. He says the vehicle then flipped onto its roof, caught fire and became engulfed in flames.
He says the driver and all four passengers were killed and burned in the flames. Investigators are working to identify the people in the vehicle.
