CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - A top executive with a California investment-management firm who was in Virginia to drop a student off at college has died after being struck by a car near campus.

The Albemarle County Police Department said in a statement that 57-year-old Bonnie Baha of San Marino, California, was struck by a car just before 1 p.m. Sunday near the University of Virginia. She died at a hospital. Police say Baha’s husband and daughter were also struck and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Baha was the director of Global Developed Credit for Los Angeles-based investment management firm DoubleLine, which confirmed her death in a statement Monday.

Police say there are no charges at this time and that the crash remains under investigation.
