CINCINNATI (AP) - A weekend spike in heroin overdoses is continuing after authorities say emergency crews responded to at least 10 in one day in Cincinnati.

Police say none of the overdoses reported Tuesday were fatal. They’re not sure what exactly caused the surge in overdoses but are working to identify patterns to find the source of the drug being circulated.

Many of the overdoses happened on the city’s west side. Police say three people overdosed in one house and another person overdosed at a gas station with his child in the car.

The Hamilton County Heroin Coalition on Monday reported a spike over the weekend. The group reported more than 30 overdoses at area hospitals beginning Friday.

Police are warning anyone using intravenous drugs to be aware of increased danger.
