ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The Rev. Franklin Graham traveled to New York’s capital city Thursday to urge Christians to make their voices heard on Election Day, and to pray before they cast their ballot.

Graham declined to make an endorsement during the visit, part of his 50-state “Decision America” tour.

“I have no hope in the Democratic Party. Zero,” he said, before adding “I have zero hope in the Republican Party. The only hope for this country is almighty God.”

Graham encouraged members of all parties to vote for candidates that embody Christian beliefs. He also said Christians should consider increasing their level of civic participation by running for all levels of political office.

Speaking on the grounds of the state Capitol building, Graham led the audience of more than a thousand in prayers for government employees, including Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo and law enforcement. And he urged those present to pray for the forgiveness of their sins.

The son of the Rev. Billy Graham also bemoaned what he said was an increase in secularism in America, as well as sexual and violent content in entertainment.

“I’m not going to tell you who to vote for,” he told them. “You figure it out.”
