BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in northwestern Arizona say a man has been arrested and accused of trying to injure his 2-week-old daughter.

Bullhead City police say 29-year-old Jeremy William Cowan is being booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police were notified that Cowan’s child was transported to a Las Vegas hospital for a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage on Aug. 14.

They say Cowan tripped and accidently dropped the baby on her head, but the parents didn’t get immediate treatment for the girl’s severe head injury for approximately one week.

On Monday, police say they learned Cowan allegedly was involved in a domestic-violence incident with the child’s mother.

Cowan allegedly threw the infant head-first on the hard wood floor because she was crying.
