DETROIT (AP) - A jury has convicted a man in the slaying of a 24-year-old woman whose body was later found in Detroit.

Maxwell Brack was convicted Wednesday of second-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend, Kajavia Globe. She was reported missing Dec. 11 by her family and her body was found three days later in a trash container behind an abandoned house.

Brack denied any involvement in Globe’s death, testifying during the trial that he had no reason to kill her.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Sept. 27.
