CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police have shot and wounded a 26-year-old motorist who they say refused to stop his Ford Mustang and rammed patrol cars to get away.
Officers initially tried to the pull the man over about 4 a.m. Wednesday in Fraser, north of Detroit.
The driver continued into neighboring Clinton Township where he was boxed in by patrol cars. A Fraser officer shot the man as the patrol cars were being rammed.
He was being treated at a hospital.
Three Fraser officers have been placed on administrative leave. Clinton Township police are investigating the shooting.
Video from police dashboard cameras will be reviewed.
