WHEATON, Md. (AP) - Montgomery County police are identifying a 72-year-old woman found dead at her Wheaton home.

Police identified the woman in a statement Thursday as Linda Cheryl Johnson. Police say officers were called to a home on Arcola Avenue on Wednesday afternoon for a report of a suspicious situation. When first responders went into the home, police say they found Johnson dead with evidence of trauma to her body.

Police say detectives have classified her death as suspicious and they are treating it as a homicide.
