MCADOO, Pa. (AP) - A 69-year-old Pennsylvania woman is jailed on charges including first-degree murder for allegedly shooting her husband while he cursed loudly in an argument about her family.

State police say Jane Schreiner called 911 to report shooting her husband in their Kline Township home, then called back moments later to say she didn’t realize the gun was loaded. That happened about 3 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say Schreiner told them she was embarrassed that neighbors could hear her husband and threatened him with the gun to get him to stop shouting. But they say she also acknowledged threatening to shoot her husband or to slice his throat telling him, “Don’t go to sleep tonight.”

Schreiner was held overnight and charged Friday. Online court records don’t list an attorney for her.
