TULSA, Okla. (AP) - An inmate who escaped the Tulsa jail while taking out trash is back in custody.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old Henry William Givens Jr. was found in north Tulsa about 8 p.m. Thursday and arrested after a short foot chase by police.
Authorities say Givens escaped about 8 a.m. Thursday when he ran away from the jail while taking trash to a dumpster.
Court records show Givens was serving a six-month sentence in the county jail after pleading guilty last week to charges of larceny from a retailer, trespassing and obstructing an officer.
