NEW YORK (AP) - A giant red-white-and-blue T - for Trump - went up in flames in New York City.

Firefighters in the city’s borough of Staten Island rushed to the blaze that engulfed the 12-foot wooden T a resident had commissioned for his front lawn.

Artist Scott LoBaido told the Staten Island Advance that his work was a tribute to the Republican presidential nominee.

Who doused the mammoth T with gasoline just after 1 a.m. Sunday and torched it remains a mystery, according to a fire department spokesman. Fire marshals are investigating.

“It was about 1 a.m last night and my wife, two kids and I were sound asleep when our neighbors rang the doorbell to tell us the T was ablaze,” Sam Pirozzolo told the Advance.

He said LoBaido created and erected the T in May, covered in patriotic colors, to show support for Trump.

At least his client’s house wasn’t burned down, LoBaido said. Still, “this is just out of control.”

The artist will create a new T, and Pirozzolo promises this one’s going to be “huge, huge.”
