EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police in East Providence are investigating the stabbing of a man over the weekend.

Chief Christopher Parrella says it happened around midnight Saturday. The victim, identified as Jasper Williams, was hospitalized in unknown condition.

WPRI-TV reports Parrella confirmed Williams was found guilty in 2014 of assault charges in the 2012 double stabbing of two brothers.



Authorities are investigating.
