PITTSBURGH (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced as part of a plea deal to 15 years in federal prison for selling fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in two overdose deaths.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2hCSj13 ) Andre Higgs of Wilkinsburg was sentenced on Thursday.
Higgs was the last of three men to be sentenced in the 2015 deaths of 38-year-old Stacey Shaw, of Altoona, and 43-year-old Ray Smith, of Munhall.
Higgs, Romar Watts and Brian Borruto all pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute the drugs that killed Shaw and Smith.
Borruto received an eight-year prison term. Watts was sentenced to nine years in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors say Higgs dealt heroin between 2013 and 2015. He had been on probation from another federal drug case when he was arrested.
