EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old Eugene man stabbed to death a 19-year-old woman he met online and then buried the body under a house owned by his boss.
The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/2gWvGpV) that court documents recently filed in Lane County Circuit Court say that Erick Joaquin-Espinosa then went to work at his roofing job the next morning.
Jessica Frank of Eugene died Nov. 4 and Joaquin-Espinosa was arrested two days later. Authorities hadn’t previously released details of her death.
Police say Joaquin-Espinosa describes the killing as self-defense.
But a co-worker says that Joaquin-Espinosa initiated the attack and kept stabbing Frank until she stopped moving.
Juaquin-Espinosa is being held in the Lane County Jail on a murder charge.
