KENNETT, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri woman has been sentenced to life in prison in the 2013 shooting death of her husband.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports (https://j.mp/2h0tsHJ) that 51-year-old Victoria Lee Isaac of Puxico was sentenced Thursday. She pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree murder.

Isaac’s husband, 43-year-old Chris Isaac, was fatally shot in the head on May 14, 2013, as he slept on the couch. Records showed that Victoria Isaac told authorities something told her to “end him.”

Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver said that minutes after the sentencing, Victoria Isaac and a relative began shouting obscenities and threatened the victim’s family and court personnel.

Oliver said three court bailiffs struggled with Victoria Isaac to restrain her.
