HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - City leaders are looking into complaints of brownish-colored water in a Hattiesburg neighborhood.

The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/2hDK5Ic ) that one resident, Joshua Tillman, brought a bottle of discolored water to Monday’s city council meeting and said it came from his tap. Tillman said he can’t drink it, and he can’t even give it to his animals.

Mayor Johnny DuPree and City Council Vice President Mary Dryden told Tillman they would take the item under advisement and come up with a solution.

The Hattiesburg newspaper reports that the issue of discolored water flowing from taps in Parkhaven has persisted for more than two months.
