PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Portland’s Secret Santa has given away $100 bills to unsuspecting people at a thrift shop and food pantry in the city and plans to visit several more locations as he continues his goal of giving away $20,000.
The Santa on Tuesday handed out money at the nonprofit Still a Good Cause Thrift Shop and the Sagamore Food Pantry.
The Santa tries to target specific areas where people in need might be present.
The Portland Press Herald reports he plans to visit three more locations on Wednesday and Thursday.
After this week, the Santa says he’ll have given away $160,000 over the past eight years.
His publicist says she can’t provide details about the Santa.
The Santa says on his Facebook page he hopes others will also “pay it forward.”
