BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham Police are searching for a suspect vehicle that they say jumped a sidewalk and purposefully struck four teens.

Lt. David Rockett tells local media that officers responded Thursday afternoon to a home in the Wylam neighborhood. Witnesses said a blue, older-model Ford Explorer left the road and struck the teens, who were standing in front of the home.

The driver fled and remains at large.

Rockett says two of the victims were taken to UAB Hospital with serious injuries and one victim was taken to Children’s Hospital. One victim received minor injuries and walked away from the scene.

Police are investigating the incident. Anyone who sees the suspected vehicle is asked to call Birmingham police at 205-254-1700.
