JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - A water main break in Riverside County created a sinkhole, flooded a Jurupa Valley residence, yards and streets, and cut water to 40 houses.

Cal Fire says the incident Friday morning created a 15-foot by 15-foot hole in the middle of Bridle Path Circle.

One home had several inches of water but firefighters were able to salvage most of the interior belongings.

The local water district estimated repair of the main and restoration of water service would take eight hours.
