SEATTLE (AP) - A woman is suing a high school teacher who she says had sex with her on campus when she was an 18-year-old student.

KING-TV reports (https://kng5.tv/2ipaBGz) the lawsuit names the teacher, the Everett School District and a former school superintendent.

The lawsuit says the teacher started grooming the Cascade High School student for a sexual relationship in 2002 while she was a junior.

A lawyer for the teacher asked a judge to dismiss the case and said his client denies the accusations.

The district said the teacher was removed from class “out of an abundance of caution” after the lawsuit was served.

No criminal charges appear to have been filed against the teacher.

The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they’ve been sexually assaulted.
