ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Murder charges have been filed against a man sought in the shooting death of a woman whose body was found inside an Atlantic City apartment where they both lived.

Atlantic County prosecutors say 43-year-old Joseph McCoy also faces two weapons counts stemming from the death of 23-year-old Jacqueline Hoyle, who was found early Tuesday at the North Tennessee Avenue residence.

But they have not said what may have sparked the shooting or discussed the relationship between the two.

An autopsy determined that Hoyle died from a single gunshot wound. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Bail on the charges announced Saturday was set at $750,000 cash for McCoy, who remains at large. He could face a life sentence if he’s convicted on the murder charge.
