HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - A submarine museum in New Jersey is searching for a new home after losing its lease.

News 12 New Jersey reports (https://bit.ly/2i7xIEV ) that the New Jersey Naval Museum in Hackensack lost its lease in May. The museum and the World War II-era USS Ling submarine first came to the spot on the Hackensack River in the 1970s.

The museum closed in 2015 after part of the pier collapsed from Superstorm Sandy damage.

Lee Altschuler, vice president of the Submarine Memorial Foundation, says the group no longer gets donations and grants like it used to.

The group is hoping to find a home for a memorial it houses from the USS Gudgeon, which fought in World War II before it was lost in June 1944.
