BOSTON (AP) - Boston police are investigating whether the killings of five teenagers over the past 15 months were linked to gang activity.

City Police Commissioner William Evans told the Boston Herald (https://bit.ly/2i8mJsg ) that authorities are looking into any gang links to the killings in East Boston, including the fatal stabbing of a young man whose body was found on Christmas Eve.

Evans says detectives and state police are trying to find ties between the fatal stabbing, the death of a 16-year-old boy whose body was found Dec. 9 and three slayings linked to the MS-13 gang dating back to last year.

More than five dozen reputed MS-13 members were indicted in January. Authorities said gang members had been ordered to kill rival 18th Street gang members in East Boston and Chelsea.
