BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Police arrested a Caldwell man accused of choking his girlfriend and slamming her to the ground.
The Idaho Statesman reports (https://bit.ly/2itcUIF) Christopher Benitez has been charged with domestic battery and causing a traumatic injury to the victim.
Caldwell police Sgt. Richard Ferrera says the incident happened Dec. 10, and children were close enough to be in danger.
Paramedics treated the woman, but Ferrera doesn’t know whether she went to the hospital.
Online court records show Benitez was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery in 2014. The charge was later changed to disturbing the peace, and Benitez pleaded guilty.
