LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Officials say an inmate has died after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Local media outlets report that the Fayette County Coroner’s Office says in a news release that staff at the jail discovered 57-year-old Jesse Hopkins unresponsive Tuesday morning and called 911.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner’s office says Hopkins appears to have died from natural causes.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
