COMPANY IDENTIFIES MINNESOTA VICTIMS IN FLORIDA PLANE CRASH
Independent Technologies, Inc. released a statement Thursday saying company president Daryl Ingalsbe of Spicer, Minnesota, was killed. The other victim was Deb Solsrud of New London, Minnesota. Officials say the Epic LT single-engine aircraft had taken off in Tennessee on Tuesday and was preparing to land at a private airport near Daytona Beach when it crashed into a nearby yard.
TEEN ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTOUT ON MIAMI BEACH’S OCEAN DRIVE
Miami Beach police tell local news outlets that dozens of bullets were fired during the shooting spree early Tuesday on Ocean Drive. No one was injured. The 17-year-old briefly escaped a police chase but was found hiding in his apartment and now faces multiple charges. The shooting occurred between a group of people standing on the sidewalk and another group crossing Ocean Drive.
AUTHORITIES: WOMAN MAKES PLEA DEAL IN JEWELRY STORE HEISTS
Abigail Lee Kemp waived her right to trial in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina when she accepted a plea deal Wednesday in Panama City federal court, local news organizations are reporting. She has already pleaded guilty to conspiring with three men in the robbery of a Panama City Beach jewelry store, the reports say. Arrested last January, she was charged in a string of robberies spanning a 10-month period.
FLORIDA BOY FATALLY SHOT WALKING HOME FROM BIRTHDAY PARTY
Broward Sheriff’s spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright tells local news outlets the shooting happened Wednesday evening in Dania Beach, adding two of the boy’s adult cousins also were shot. They were taken to hospitals and their conditions weren’t available early Thursday. Coleman-Wright says it was the fourth shooting in the neighborhood since Christmas and added deputies believe that two of the previous incidents may be related to this one.
SOLDIER ARRESTED IN FLORIDA ON SEXTING CHARGES
Pinellas County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release that 23-year-old Peter Maxx Matlock started a long-distance internet relationship that began when the girl was 14 and that he was aware of her age. Detectives say the pair exchanged nude photographs and performed simulated sex acts over Skype. A report said their relationship lasted from February to November 2016.
