HUEYTOWN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve charged a 21-year-old man with capital murder after a teenage boy was shot to death outside Birmingham, leading to an hours-long manhunt for the shooter.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2iHYujZ ) that the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon in Hueytown, in western Jefferson County.

Hueytown police Chief Chuck Hagler on Wednesday announced the arrest of Deion Dewayne Jones of Dolomite. He’s accused of killing 17-year-old Colt Coggins of McCalla.

Hagler said it appears Jones was planning to rob Coggins during an illegal transaction involving a gun.
