HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Garland County Sheriff’s Office says an employee at a seasoning plant died after a workplace accident.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2imwxPt ) reports 27-year-old Mike McKee died at the Texamerican Seasoning Plant near Hot Springs on Tuesday after a mixer was activated while he was inside the tank attempting to retrieve a bag of salt he dropped. A co-worker found him in the mixer. McKee was taken to St. Vincent Hospital after his co-worker pressed the emergency stop button to halt the machine.

Sheriff’s office spokesman John Schroeder says he doesn’t have any details on when and where McKee later died. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating the incident.
