Body found behind old outlet mall in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a man found in the woods behind an old outlet mall in Shreveport.

Police say the body was found Saturday afternoon behind what is now the Regal Banquet and Conference Center just before 12:30 p.m. about 100 yards into the woods by a hunter who was in the area scouting locations.

KSLA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2iRrGce ) the coroner’s office and crime scene investigators were called to the scene a short time later.

Shreveport Police Det. Sgt. Kevin Strickland would not say how long it appears the remains have been there, what condition they are in or how he might have died.

He says they’re investigating the death as a homicide until findings indicate otherwise.

Police are still working on identifying the man.
