PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police are investigating a shooting in Providence that left a man seriously injured.
Officers found the 34-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound early Sunday morning. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he remained in critical condition Sunday night.
Police say the victim’s girlfriend told authorities her and the man were sleeping when they heard a noise. She told officers the man went to the living room to the check it out, when she heard a sliding glass door shatter and a gunshot.
The victim’s identity hasn’t been released. Police believe he was targeted in the shooting. No arrests have been made as of Sunday night.
