CLEVELAND (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old man in a neighborhood that borders Cleveland’s downtown area.

Officers were dispatched to a home on East 43rd Street around 8 a.m. Sunday following reports of a shooting. At the scene police found Nakika Burston suffering from a gunshot wound.

Burston was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say homicide detectives learned that the 40-year-old suspect came to Burston’s home that morning and shot him over a drug debt.

Det. Reginald Lanton says the suspect was apprehended shortly after the shooting. Charges have not yet been filed against the man.

The incident remains under investigation.
