SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A driver has been cited for a crash that killed a woman and injured four others.

Louisiana State Police say the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when 24-year-old Kilian Webster was driving a Pontiac Grand Am westbound on I-10 in heavy rain.

Webster lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the center median before ultimately crossing into the eastbound lanes of I-10 and getting hit by a Chevrolet Equinox.

A passenger in Webster’s car, 25-year-old Ciara Lemon, was severely injured. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Three people in the Equinox were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. A 5-year-old in Webster’s car sustained moderate injuries.

Webster was cited for careless driving, driving on a suspended license and having a child unrestrained in the vehicle. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
