BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore Police have identified two suspects in the daylight killing of a man near Lexington Market.
Spokesman T.J. Smith said at a news conference Tuesday that warrants have been obtained for Derrick Jackson Jr. and Vincent Barefoot, both 24. They are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of 23-year-old Tayvon Cokley.
The shooting took place about 12:50 p.m. Monday.
Smith says officers on foot patrol heard gunshots and found Cokley with wounds. He died at a hospital.
The department released video that officers said shows Jackson and Barefoot running from the shooting. Smith says Cokley was walking from a hospital, where he was visiting a relative who was a victim of a violent crime, when he was shot.
Investigators don’t know of a motive for the shooting.
