NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say two men and a woman played roles in a series of jewelry store burglaries that netted them nearly $1 million in stolen goods.
The three were arrested Tuesday following an investigation involving 17 law enforcement agencies.
Middlesex County prosecutors say 54-year-old Michael Davis, of Irvington, faces six counts of burglary. Terrance Worthy, a 59-year-old Newark resident, faces two counts of conspiracy, while 35-year-old Union Township resident Keir Dargon faces a single conspiracy count.
Prosecutors say that during the past six months, Davis took part in six burglaries of jewelry stores in Perth Amboy, Raritan, Lawrence, Denville, Flemington and Hopewell. They say he broke into the stores during the early morning hours and took various jewels and watches.
It wasn’t known Wednesday if the defendants have retained attorneys.
