Man gets life sentence for killing wife

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife in front of their two children.

The Ledger (https://goo.gl/k9eQuV ) reports that 47-year-old Michael Lee Finn was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to murder as part of a deal with prosecutors. He had been facing a possible death sentence.

Authorities say Finn stabbed 34-year-old wife Kristen Finn in May as she tried to flee their Lakeland home. Deputies responding to a battery call tried to save her, but she died later at a local hospital.
