Police: Student had loaded handgun at school

COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - Police in Colchester, Vermont, say a student has been caught with a gun at the local high school.

WCAX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2gVnYga) authorities say the boy was carrying the loaded, small-caliber handgun as a precaution Tuesday and had no intention of using it. They said they found no history of threats or bullying toward him.

The gun was confiscated and the student is due in court.

The boy’s name and age were not released.
