XENIA, Ohio (AP) - Investigators have unveiled a forensic facial reconstruction they hope will help identify a woman whose skeletal remains were found by mushroom hunters in southwest Ohio in early May.
A forensic artist created the clay model unveiled Thursday by Attorney General Mike DeWine and Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer.
DNA testing hasn’t helped identify the remains found May 1 in a wooded area near Xenia (ZEEN’-yuh), southeast of Dayton. The cause of death hasn’t been determined.
Detectives say Caucasian woman was 25 to 50 years old, and between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10. She wore a white tank top, white bra and black sweatpants with a pink stripe and a pink heart on the left thigh with the word “babe.”
Investigators say the remains might have been exposed to the elements for months.
